12/100:Services: Handmade Design

If you missed it,  Lucy Lou’s is now offering a variety of services! I wrote more about what made this decision to come to life here! Definitely check that out if you want to know more about the overall purpose and possibility of this option!
One of the services offered is handmade design. I wanted to take some time to elaborate on each offering to show you the full scale of what is possible if we work together! With Thanksgiving just around the corner, one of my favorite handmade design options is about to be way more popular!
Handmade design includes: envelope addressing, wedding signage, place settings, watercolor lettering, and more!! These are just the ones that I have done the most for people! I’m including some pictures here 🙂

Handmade design services are really how I got started in the business world. I started with a little laundry sign that you can read all about here. Doing that and growing my budding business helped me fall in love with helping people, being a part of their story, and creating new things!

Since then, my favorite projects to be a part of are definitely weddings. I have done envelopes of all different styles, place settings that have been so special, and signage that creates the overall mood and vibe of the wedding and couple.
My favorite style is brush lettering or watercolor lettering. These are my favorites simply because of the lasting effect and hand-made quality of them. You can see each brush stroke and water droplet in each letter. Something about seeing those details makes pieces so special and signature. It’s having a one of a kind piece of art in your home without a huge commissioned price tag.
As a rule, I don’t have things I create in my home. Mostly because if I see it everyday, I tear it apart as if I was an art curator looking for reasons not to include it in an important museum. There is only once thing I have in my home that I have made that I LOVE to see everyday. These watercolor lyrics are so special to my fiance and I. I love the color blending and the meaning behind them. I know word art is fading out from a design standpoint, but having word art that just looks like art and that is hand done, will never go out of style for me.
With Thanksgiving coming up, one of my favorite things that I have done, for multiple families, are table settings! Using craft paper and my signature font, I have created beautiful, and clean-up friendly, table cloths for the buffet and dining table! It is so fun, encourages creativity if you have markers out, and can help your guests know what they are piling on their plate! I have also done them for Christmas! It is so fun, special, and most of importantly- disposable for 1 step clean up! Schedule a call today to setup your table setting for the holidays!
I’d love to work with you on a handmade project! It doesn’t just have to be lettering! I made 2 bulletin boards this week that fell under this category- more to come on that next week! What is your favorite project I’ve done by hand for you?!
